ICEB STATEMENT OF FAITH

Mt 3:16,17; 28:18,19; Jo 14:16,17; 16:12-15; Hb 9:14.

Art. 2º

We believe in God the Father, personal, spirit, eternal, infinite, immutable, and unfathomable in His Being, creator, preserver, and consummator of all things; Who revealed Himself to the world through creation and the prophets, through the Son and the Scriptures, making Himself known to us and all that He requires for our conduct and behavior here in the world. Genesis 1-2; Exodus 3:14-15; Psalm 139:7-12; Isaiah 40:28; Jeremiah 10:10; 23:24; Matthew 5:45-48; Mark 12:19-30; John 1:18; 4:24; 5:37-39; Acts 17:24-29; Romans 1:20; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; 1 Timothy 1:17; Hebrews 1:1-4; 7:3; James 1:1-18.

Art. 3º

We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, the only begotten of the Father, conceived of the Virgin Mary by the power and grace of the Holy Spirit, who lived without sin, died for the atonement of our sins, rose again for our justification, ascended to the right hand of the Father for our mediation, from where He will return to judge the living and the dead. Ps 2:1-8; Is 7:14; Mt 1:18-21; Jn 1:1-3; 8:56-58; 10:30; Rm 4:24,25; Hb 4:14-16; I Pe 4:5; I Jn 4:8,9.

Art. 4º

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, of the same essence as the Father and the Son, regenerator, sanctifier, comforter of our lives, who dwells in the believer from the moment of their conversion to Jesus Christ. Psalm 4:6; John 14:16,17; 16:7-14; 2 Corinthians 3:16-18; Ephesians 2:17,18; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Titus 3:4,5; 1 Peter 1:3-12.

Art. 5º

Dt 4:2; Sl 119:112; Is 8:19,20; 2Tm 3:16; Hb 1:1; 2Pe 1:19-21.

Art. 6º

We believe there was a rebellion in heaven, led by Satan and followed by some angels, whose aim, since then, has been to destroy God’s works, thus becoming the agent of evil with demonic hosts and the main one responsible for the entry of sin into the world and human unhappiness. Genesis 3:1-7; Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:13-17; Matthew 4:8,9; John 12:31; Ephesians 5:12; 1 John 5:19.

Art. 7º

We believe that man was created by God, exactly as described in Genesis, free and responsible, with positive holiness (ready to do what is right), in an ideal state of perfection; however, he did not maintain his original state, being tempted by Satan, he did not resist, fell into sin and was expelled from the presence of God, going on to live in moral and spiritual misery, compromising the entire human race. Genesis 2:7-17, 3:22-24, 9:24; Psalm 51:5; Romans 1:18-32, 3:23-24, 5:12-21.

Art. 8º

We believe in the immortality of the soul, in its perpetual and conscious existence, in a state of salvation and joy in heaven or in a state of perdition and misery in hell. Gen 2:7; Ec 3:11; 12:7; Dan 12:2; Mt 25:31-46; Lk 16:22-31; Ap 20:10-14; 21:7-8.

Art. 9º

We believe in the existence of hell and the lake of fire, a destination that God prepared for the devil and his angels (demons), but which will also be the eternal abode of the souls who reject Jesus as Savior and Lord. Mt 25:41-46; Mk 9:43-48; Lk 16:22-23; Rev 20:10-14; 21:8.

Art. 10º

We believe in eternal salvation solely by the grace of God through faith in the atoning sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, accomplished on the cross, wrought by the regenerating persuasion of the Holy Spirit, through the new birth, sealing us for the day of redemption. Luke 19:10; John 16:7-11; Acts 4:12; Romans 4:24-25; 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 2 Timothy 2:19.

Art. 11º

We believe in the Church as the universal assembly of the saints existing in all parts of the earth in local congregations, as the unity of God’s people, chosen and separated from the world, instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ for the perfecting and service of the saints. Mt 16:16-19; Jn 17:22-26; II Cor 11:2; Eph 4:10-16; 5:22-27; II Tim 3:15; Heb 12:22-24; I Pet 2:9-10.

Art. 12º

We believe in water baptism, after the profession of faith, performed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as a public testimony of faith and as an outward symbol of the regenerating work performed inwardly by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, for union with the Body of Christ. Mt 28:18-20; Acts 8:36-39, 10:44-48; Rom 6:1-14; 1 Cor 12:12-14.

Art. 13º

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper, with the elements of bread and wine, representing His body and blood, to maintain the communion of the saints and to proclaim the death, resurrection, and second coming of Christ. Mt 26:26-31; Mk 14:22-26; Jn 6:42-59; I Cor 11:23-29.

Art. 14º

We believe in the second coming of Christ, personal, physical, and visible, for the resurrection of the dead, the rapture of the Church, the judgment of the nations, the establishment of His Kingdom, and the consummation of all things. Daniel 12:2; Matthew 24:29-31; 25:31-32; 26:63-64; Mark 13:3-37; Luke 21:25-28; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8; Revelation 3:11; 20:1-13.

Art. 15º

We believe in God’s final judgment, in the establishment of a new heaven and a new earth for the eternal habitation of the saved, and in the establishment of God’s universal government. Isaiah 11:1-9, 51:3, 59:20, 65:17-25, 66:12; Zechariah 8:3-8; 1 Corinthians 15:24-28; Revelation 20:1-6, 11-15, 21:1-5.
